The Suffolk Village of Raydon situated in the countryside between Hadleigh and East Bergholt but within easy reach of both Colchester and Ipswich by car, brings together the amenity’s and community of a small village with a highly convenient location.
Raydon’s history stretches back to the Domesday book and in subsequent years great changes have occurred most notably the construction during WW2 of Raydon Airfield, the airfield was an important wartime site hosting American fighter squadrons until its closure in the late 1950’s. The remaining buildings are today used for industrial and storage purposes providing employment opportunities.
The King George Playing fields are a great asset to the village providing a large open green space adjacent the Village Hall, the annual Firework display and Bonfire is great fun, and the village benefits from a part time bar operating in the village hall!
The Brett Vale Golf club is located just outside of the Western fringe of the village and has itself been modernised and improved greatly over time to provide the excellent facility in place today.
