A busy historic market town situated on the Essex/Suffolk border on the edge of the River Stour, believed to be the smallest town in England.
Manningtree is a gateway town to our area from London with Manningtree Station only a 55 minute train journey from London Liverpool Street station. From the station there are direct walks along defined footpaths into the Stour Valley and up to East Bergholt and Dedham, footpaths also extend to the Shotley and Tendring Peninsular.
The town itself provides a range of local shops, facilities and restaurants, both Primary and High Schools are within walking distance of the High Street. Large Co-Op store, Barclays bank, Tyre Fitting and Gym’s are available.
In the town centre the High Street is very welcoming and links down to the waterfront and Sailing Club. Lucca Italian restaurant is very well regarded locally for its high quality cuisine and The Crown pub is always a busy and inviting spot.
Further independent shops, barbers, cafes and apothecaries populate the high street and complete the friendly feel of the town.
